Tricare and Lasik

Tricare and LasikTRICARE covers most inpatient and outpatient care that is medically necessary and considered proven, however; Lasik surgery is not covered by Tricare. There are special rules or limits on certain types of care, while other types of care are not covered at all. Some services or treatments require prior authorization. The coverage and out-of-pocket costs of different patients are dependent on one’s eligibility as a Tricare beneficiary and may vary according to the program option that an individual may be using. In order to get detailed information with respect to coverage of an individual for different conditions, one has to contact his regional contractor or the Tricare Area Office in order to get detailed information. Since Laser surgery is not covered under Tricare, therefore, deciding to go ahead with Laser surgery may be one of the most crucial and a huge decision for most of the people. One may have a lot of questions and may need a lot of information as well.
