Pros and Cons of Lasik

Pros and Cons of Lasik

Though Lasik has been identified as one of the very effective procedures for vision correction but there are both pros and cons associated with Lasik surgery. There are many benefits to having the Lasik eye procedure to improve vision and better maintain the ability to see clearly. Lasik eye surgery actually changes the shape of one’s cornea to compensate for the distortions that many vision impairing problems are caused by. This helps to improve the clarity and quality of sight for the person who has the procedure carried out. The most effective aspect about Lasik corrective techniques is that Lasik is generally done at the source of the problem. Lasik surgery allows for the corneal cells to regenerate, creating perfect vision that patients do not need to worry about changing lenses in the future for. There are some drawbacks also that are associated with Lasik surgery. There is a portion of pain involved in Lasik surgery that can only be treated with light pain relievers. An individual will not be able to see through the eye for a period of time while the cornea is healing, and he will also be restricted from doing many actions which may slow down the body’s repair of your corneal walls. There is even a slight chance that your vision may get worse, but this is rare and only happens in a very small percentage of cases..
