Macular Rash

A macular rash may be generally described as a kind of a skin rash which generally is characterized through the presence of several small and flat red spots.

There can be allergic reactions or certain medications that can be responsible for the occurrence of this type of rashes. Most of the times, the occurrence of this type of a rash is generally symbolic of the fact that some kind of underlying medical problem exists. Therefore, this needs to be immediately reported to a physician who can definitely guide about the cause of this rash and thus also suggest some kind of treatment recommendations. In some of the cases, this type of a rash may be presented as a combination of flat reddened spots and this can also have raised reddened areas. In such a case, it is termed as macular papular rash. The patient may feel itchy and heat at the spot of the rash. It may be possible that the patient may not be experiencing any kind of sensation at the site of the rash but this would however depend upon the cause of the skin eruption. Amongst the other reasons because of which rashes may develop are the autoimmune responses which can also result in the formation of rashes. There are different topical preparations available which can soothe the rash and can also help in resolving the rashes more quickly.
