Part One: The optometrist carried out an assessment of my current eye prescription,and a q+a session regarding my past visual and eye health.The reasons for my interest in surgery and the possible treatment options were discussed

Part two: A clinical assistant carried out the wavefront analysis and mapping of my cornea.

Part three : Back with the optometrist who now carried out a full interior and exterior assessment of my eyes.

The best treatment option, possible complications and the aftercare procedure was outlined.

The conclusion was that I was a suitable candidate for eye surgery.It was recommended because of my age that I should have monovision correction.One eye would be corrected for clear distance vision(with wavefront lasik) and the other eye would be left slightly short sighted(with standard lasik) enabling clear near vision.

It was pointed out that as I grew older I would need glasses for reading.Also there was the possibility that after surgery it might be necessary to wear glasses at night for driving.

The price quoted was £1,995(wavefront right eye ) and £1395 (lasik left eye).A grand total of £3,390

I am having a good think about whether or not to proceed!:)

Maybe stick with spectacles!
