Dell Laser Reviews 1. Since I was 8, I always had to wear glasses(I briefly tried contacts, but thought that was much worse). I attributed them(perhaps unfairly) to a big part of not going out as much as I should have. Even still, I was nervous about getting the surgery, as any sane person should be when the notion of peeling open your retinas and blasting them with lasers is considered. Dr. Dell and his staff allayed all these fears. I had the surgery with Dr. Dell in December of 05. It was amazingly quick and I was already seeing better as I left the office. I have worn glasses since I was in the 7th grade. I was not happy about it then, but I became use to it over the years.About ten years ago I started looking seriously at vision correction surgery, but found that, at the time, I was not a candidate for LASIK because my cornea's were "too thin". I was told I was an excellent candidate for PRK, but I was just not comfortable with it. So I would keep checking to see if technology had advanced enough every so often, but about two years ago I decided to stop considering it and just stick with glasses. That was until recently when I learned about an increasing problem I was having with my right eye that glasses were simply not addressing. I was referred to Dr. Dell. I had visited Dell Laser Consultants back in 2002, they still had me on file, were still friend and thorough, and I was very shocked when they said I qualified for Custom Wavefront Intralase. I figured that I would have to undergo ASA (the newer version of PRK) or have a lens replacement procedure for my right eye at the very least. Due to their practice having some of the most advanced equipment in the area, that only became an option if I felt more comfortable with it. Obviously I chose the Custom Wavefront Intralase.The staff has been great and very professional. I was fortunate enough tobe able to schedule my surgery for the following week. Like other people, I had some understandable concerns about the procedure, but the staff and Dr. Dell were able to answer all my questions and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire procedure. I left being able to see better than I had in decades without glasses.I never felt pressured to undergo any procedure, they were extremely thorough before, during and after the surgery, and I was never made to feel like I was "just another patient". That level of professionalism and patient service is simply too hard to find these days. I never could get comfortable with contacts and I hated wearing glasses, so after some pretty extensive research I chose Dell Laser Consultants to do my procedure. I firmly believe that I made the correct choice. The procedure I chose was a little more expensive than what you can find elsewhere but was well worth it. I believe you get what you pay for. Besides the first class treatment I received, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. All of the staff and Dr. Derek Cunningham made me feel like my procedure was important to them. Not like I was just another patient that was going to write them a check. They didn't give me any false claims that my vision would be perfect or I would never have to wear glasses. They were up front and honest. I am now back to 20/15 in both eyes and couldn't be happier. Yes I have to wear reading glasses sometimes but overall my vision is far better. I don't have to worry about broken glasses or whether my contacts are in correctly and I can wear real sunglasses again. I have been very happy with the results of my procedure and knowing what I know about the professionals at Dell Laser Consultants I would do it again without hesitation.
