Corneal Problems
There are different types of corneal problems. These problems can arise either out of the corneal infections, inflammatory conditions or trauma, etc.
There can be different symptoms that can be associated with different corneal eye problems. These are pain, photophobia, reduced visual acuity, red eye, etc. The different infectious and inflammatory conditions can be primarily associated with pain. Some of the patients may also complain of photophobia or sensitivity to light. This condition is also generally accompanied with pain. The visual acuity may also reduce in some of the patients. This may result because of any lesion that may be impacting the central visual axis. The condition may thus be distorting the shape of the cornea which in turn can impact the visual acuity in an individual. In some of the patients, the symptoms may also be accompanied along with systemic infections, headaches, etc. It is first of all important to examine the eye and it is then important to examine the visual acuity of the eye. The cornea needs to be carefully checked for the presence of any kind of sensation. The patients suffering from these problems will generally require treatment using topical antibiotic treatment. Using steroids at the healing stage could be also extremely helpful.
